Ever hear someone say "she got egg on her face" and wonder, what does that mean? This blogg is here to help.
If I could, I would murder this blog because it sucks so badly.
Hi, I just found your blog. It could be very useful to me, as I write historical fiction, and I'm always looking to check the age of words or phrases. Is there a search facility anywhere on the blog - or could you add one? And is is there any way to ask a question? For example, there's a North off England phrase that I'd love to know the origin of: "I'll go to the end of our stairs". It means I am surprised. And this modern phrase has me confused (not sure what it means) "Put his feet to the fire". Thanks. JJ
